Looks like you caught this one in the middle of a shed. I didn't know this until we kept pet toads that they shed like snakes do, but from the back to the front. First they get all slimy looking and then using the back feet, start working the skin loose and to the front and they eat the skin! You can see the dead skin still attached to the toes on the right foot and the arm of the left one.
