For a number of years wild vultures have been seriously affected by the use of the veterinary drug diclofenac - Vultures were being poisoned when they fed on domestic animal carcasses. The populations have crashed almost to the point of extinction in Asia and now the same problem is starting to occur in Africa
- of course, vultures do a great job of clearing carcasses which would otherwise cause disease which will in turn cause more dead animals and more disease...
