Solanum crispum is also called the Chilean Potato Vine, Chilean Nightshade or Chilean Potato Tree or often just potato vine. It belongs to the same genus as the potato (S. tuberosum). It grows wild in Chile and Peru....
Even better its purple... :giggle:

Photo just as taken no cropping or tweaking - just watermarked

I like the shape of the blossoms and the yellow centers. Seems like it should have a prettier name though. Nice shot.

Those really are very pretty. I suppose it makes sense that there would be other species related to the common potato, back in the land where potatoes originated. One of my neighbors planted potatoes, one year, and they flowered quite nicely, too. They weren't purple, though, as I recall.

Don't take life too seriously... Nobody comes out of it alive, anyway!

Art is like Love, unless it is shared, and viewed by others and appreciated, it has no mutual return, it is empty and hollow, and lonely.

Thanks - they don`t produce many potatoes though... ones that crop are usually white in the fields. Grew some in a tub last year they were delicious... and easy to dig up :chew:
